Post Conference Trip – Abel Tasman National Park Please read below for details of the post conference trip of the Abel Tasman National Park detailed below. Bookings should be made through Wilsons Abel Tasman. After talking about coastal issues, now is the time to take a break on one of the finest coasts in the world. Let Wilsons Abel Tasman, with 8 generations of experience in the region, show you the best of the Park. Be as active or relaxed as you choose, basking under the most sunshine hours in New Zealand. Travel with speed, style and comfort on the Wilson’s state-of-the-art Vista Cruise, then walk, kayak or laze on a golden-sand beach. At day’s end, enjoy a hot shower in your ensuite bathroom at our Beachfront Lodge. Share stories over a pre-dinner drink around the open fire before indulging in a fine meal prepared by our world-renowned chef. All you need to do is pack some overnight gear and take the one-hour plane flight from Wellington to Nelson. We take care of the rest. The trip will start in Nelson on the morning of Saturday 19 September. The full, 3 day option (see link to itinerary below) will enable you to take in the full length of the coastal track. For those with limited time there is a 2 day option. There will be a presentation by local Coastal Society members at Meadowbank Homestead, Awaroa, on Saturday evening after dinner, commenting on some of the coastal and engineering issues being addressed within this National Park and the local Nelson maritime area. The cost of the tour will cover accommodation, meals, guide and transport (excluding the fare from Nelson to Wellington). The itinerary (see link below) can be adjusted to fit individual needs.
